We did it! We made it through another year and will begin a new academic year, welcome our new interns, and learn a incredible amount over the next 12 months. We begin our next year starting with a continuation of our cardiology block that we left off on before Belle Isle Megacode. We will have a guest lecture on pulmonary embolisms from Cardiology attending, Dr. Alraies, a FLIP lecture from Dr. Nangia, and another faculty lecture with Dr. Klever. In addition, we will have a Follow-Up Rounds with Dr. Tausch, our weekly quiz review, a critical care catch of the month with Dr. Nangia, and an ultrasound case with Dr. Juliano.

Week 50: DERM

Hello colleagues and young physicians! Have you ever looked at a rash and asked yourself, “Do I put a steroid cream on this or do I put an antifungal cream on this?” I SURE HAVE! This week we will be learning about dermatologic emergencies and less threatening dermatologic things. We start the day off with an educational follow up rounds with Dr. Capriccioso. We will have a special guest lecturer, dermatology resident Dr. Sarah Utz. Drs. Cooper and Shander will take us through FLIPs.

OMG IT IS TIME FOR OUR FIRST ANNUAL PEDIATRIC MEGA CODE EXPERIENCE!!!!

Please meet on Belle Isle Shelter #12 at 8 AM 5/13/21 for an educational experience never before seen. You will rotate through several stations in small groups and practice running pediatric codes! The LP trainer will be available for more LP logging. Sometimes there is a small fee to enter Belle Isle but I have never had to pay it.

FOOD WILL BE PROVIDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
